Cory McCann has been a registered nurse for over twenty years. Inspired by the nurses who cared for her mother during her battle with Leukemia, she went back to nursing school after two years of grieving. While there was nothing she could do to bring her mom back, she knew she could give comfort and strength to people in their darkest hours through the noble profession of nursing.
Cory worked as a clinical nurse in Neurocritical Care for seven years where she also served as a preceptor, charge nurse, hospital supervisor, and mentor to others. In 2011 she embarked on her leadership journey managing internship for critical care nurses at a Level 1 trauma hospital and academic medical center. A year later she also took on duties as an assistant nurse manager in the neurocritical care unit, and discovered hidden strengths in management. She earned her Masters in Healthcare Administration and Masters in Public Health while working full time and growing her career as a healthcare leader.
Cory’s core value is balance. Throughout her career she has made it a priority to integrate her professional and personal life in transformative ways. A native of Utah, Cory makes sure to prioritize time in the outdoors skiing, mountain biking, swimming, running, hiking, golfing, and helping her rescue dogs be good canine citizens. She also intentionally carves out space for her creative passions of singing, writing, and baking.
